Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This position requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to handle diverse patient diagnoses.
Unit Information
- Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Floating: Required
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Number of Beds: 64 beds (including 15 designated Neuro beds)
Patient Demographics
This unit accommodates adult patients aged 18 and older with various medical conditions.
Common Diagnoses
- Neuro
- Cardiac
- Trauma
- Respiratory conditions (e.g., COPD)
- DKA
- Sepsis
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Cardiovascular step-down care
- Post-operative care
Specialty Equipment
- Temporary pacemakers
- Chest tubes
- Arterial lines (A-lines)
- Bipap machines
- Neptune Vapo
Ventilator Care
The unit manages patients on chronic ventilators who are unable to be weaned off, with Registered Respiratory Therapists available for assistance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU nursing
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Valid RN licenses with active New York State license and verification from NURSYS
Location
This position is located in a facility in New York.
