About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required; will review for 1.5 years with Level 1 Trauma experience preferred. License: NM license can pend at time of submission. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before submission). Must-Have: - 2+ years of Level 1 Trauma experience preferred. - Recent travel experience preferred; first-timers accepted if they have significant relevant experience. - Knowledge and experience with admitted patients. - Ability to float as needed to meet facility requirements. - Proficiency in medication administration and clinical documentation. Description: Travelers are expected to work various holiday shifts and must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles. Approximately 60%-80% of patients in the Emergency Department are admitted. Medication administration includes IV medications via the seven medication rights. Documentation and communication of clinical findings are essential. Travelers may be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days refer to Saturday and Sunday, while weekend nights refer to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Floating to adult patient care units is an expectation based on staffing needs. Potential floating to other areas may occur based on clinical demands. No locals accepted within a specified radius. COVID vaccination is optional, while flu vaccination is required with medical or religious exemptions only. Bar code medication scanning is expected of all employees. Expected patient ratios are 1:5 in the Emergency Department. Candidates with previous charge experience are preferred. Experience with high-acuity patients, including trauma and resuscitation, is strongly preferred. The facility functions as a Level I Trauma Center. Daily census ranges from 170-200. The department has a total of 53 rooms and 68 beds. Candidates should be prepared to complete required compliance documents prior to starting the position. Travelers will be responsible for completing necessary training and modules in a timely manner. Previous travel experience is essential for eligibility. A six-month break is required after completing four consecutive assignments or upon reaching the one-year mark. All clinicians must adhere to facility policies during their assignments.
