Occupational Therapist (OT), Per Diem Weekend Shift, Acute Care Rehab

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an Occupational Therapist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. Responsibilities Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care prior to intervention in acute, outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation settings. Provide or direct and supervise therapy intervention consistent with the examination, diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care; involve the patient, other team members and family in planning, implementation and assessment; reexamine as needed, modify or discontinue care when appropriate. Plan for discharge in consultation with other disciplines, ensuring achievement of goals and outcomes, and provide follow‑up or referral; discontinue services when no longer beneficial. Communicate, coordinate and document all aspects of patient management—including results of examination, diagnosis, plan of care, interventions, responses, barriers, status changes, reexamination and discharge—with the care team; supervise rehab aides, office assistants and volunteers. Manage schedule to accommodate census and patient load, and inform management of any caseload management issues. Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using the medical record or other treating therapists as needed. Maintain individual professional development activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. 1 year site‑specific experience preferred. Active Maryland license; AHA HCP CPR; CLT from Klose or Norton for lymphedema therapy. Work Schedule Employment Type: Per Diem Hours per Week: 8 hrs/week Typical Daily Schedule: 8:00 a‑m – 4:30 p‑m Shift Type: Day Weekend Requirements: 2 weekend days per month Holiday Requirements: Follow Company calendar Pay Range This per‑diem position pays at the rate of $50 per hour. Salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
