Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports day-to-day building operations by completing a wide range of maintenance tasks across multiple locations. This role responds to work orders, performs basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC-related work, and coordinates with outside vendors to ensure the facilities remain safe, functional, and presentable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to facility maintenance work orders across all buildings using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Travel between the North Scottsdale and Deer Valley locations to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
• Perform tasks such as painting, patching holes in drywall, and hanging pictures, whiteboards, or TVs.
• Assemble office furniture and ensure it is installed safely and correctly.
• Complete basic electrical work including changing outlets, switches, and lights.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaking sinks or faucets and adjusting toilets.
• Change HVAC filters and identify potential HVAC issues, escalating them to the appropriate personnel.
• Use an iPad or iPhone to review, update, and close work orders, accurately logging all work performed.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
• Support preventive maintenance activities to keep building systems and equipment in good working order.
• Assist with facility-related construction services and minor repair projects as needed.
• Monitor and oversee outside contractors and vendors to ensure they perform work correctly and according to plan.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
• Provide timely communication on the status of work orders and report any issues that require additional attention.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience working in a facilities environment.
• 2+ years of facility maintenance experience, including exposure to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC tasks.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for repair and maintenance work.
• Ability to perform basic electrical tasks such as changing light bulbs, switches, and outlets.
• Ability to perform basic plumbing tasks including fixing leaking sinks or faucets and adjusting toilets.
• Ability to change HVAC filters and recognize when HVAC issues need escalation.
• Experience patching holes in drywall, painting, and hanging pictures or whiteboards.
• Ability to use a computer, iPad, or iPhone to look up and manage work orders.
• Experience working with or within a CMMS and exposure to automated building controls.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to stay busy and take initiative on tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience overseeing outside contractors or vendors to ensure work meets quality and plan requirements.
• Exposure to repair, preventive maintenance, and basic construction services in a facilities context.
• Comfort working in multiple buildings and traveling between locations during the workday.
• Detail-oriented approach to documenting work and following established procedures.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment

This role operates on a second shift schedule, typically from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work takes place across multiple facilities, requiring regular travel between the North Scottsdale and Deer Valley locations. The environment includes office and building spaces where the technician uses hand tools, power tools, and mobile devices such as an iPad or iPhone to manage work orders through a CMMS and interact with automated building controls. The setting emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and professionalism while supporting hands-on maintenance activities throughout the workday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
