This position provides end-user financial reporting support for management, operational and external reporting. This position requires a blended knowledge of technical and functional financial reporting and analysis skills. This position works closely with the organization to analyze and report variances, trends and plans. This position will define and improve current and future reporting requirements and understand how those requirements impact source databases and reports. This position is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of standard financial reports and requires timely response to end user inquiries/issues. Effective leadership, communication and collaboration skills are essential for this position as the incumbent is responsible for functions that cross and impact multiple functions and jurisdictions.Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate analysis and reporting:Produce and present accurate and relevant financial analysis and management reporting to the FP&A Organization and respective senior management to enable strategic decision-makingAnalyze and consolidate management financial reporting including actuals, budgets and forecasting/projecting year-end impacts including variance explanations.Analyze data, identify and correct errors to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.Coordinate and support the month-end close activities. Analyze business unit O&M and capital variances for key drivers.Prepare, check and/or post journal entries and accruals on an as-needed basis.Work with internal & external auditors; provide necessary information & answer questions as needed.Establish proper business and financial processes to ensure adherence to internal controls.Maintain good working knowledge of accounting policies and impacts as required. Ensure effective budget & business planning process:Support the budget and business planning process including communication of budget guidance, assumptions, and calendars for assigned sections.Develop and support department budget, strategic plan and related presentation material.Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets utilizing OneStream Hyperion Planning. Leading and building relationships:Build relationships & promote two-way communication with business partners and Finance peers.Proactively help identify cost reduction opportunities through independent analysis..Identify, develop and implement continuous process improvement opportunities.Lead and/or assist with special projects and requests as requiredOvertime may be required during monthly/quarterly/annual closing and business planning processes as well as rollout of new and/or change processes.Perform other ad hoc requests as necessary.Basic/Required QualificationsSr Financial AnalystBachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related disciplineThree (3) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degreePossesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and proceduresExperience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, OneStream, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tools (WebI, PowerBI, cubes)Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power PointFinancial Analyst IIBachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related disciplineTwo (2) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degreePossesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and proceduresExperience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, OneStream, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tools (WebI, PowerBI, cubes)Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point​Desired Qualifications Six (6) plus years or more of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degreeMaster's degree in Business Administration OR Master's degree in AccountingIn addition to desired degree, 6 years related work experienceCPA and/or Chartered Financial AnalystAdditional Preferred QualificationsExperience in interfacing with executive leadershipStrong oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively serve as a subject matter expert, developing process improvements and recommending best practices based on expertise & knowledgeDemonstrated ability to work independently with proactive recommendations and limited supervisionAbility to use Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite and PowerPivotBroad knowledge of utility environment and its business units/operations.Ability to analyze and understand financial information, recognize significant variances, trends, and irregularities and summarize clearly and concisely to management.Ability to meet stated deadlines and respond quickly to changing needs through a teamwork approachMasters in Accounting or MBAProfessional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA)Working ConditionsHybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period.
