Description:
Start dates are not flexible.
The 100-mile radius rule applies.
Daily treatments involve 5-6 vents and 35 treatments in 12 hours.
Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, PALS.
NICU experience is preferred; NRP is required for NICU trained therapists.
Types of patients include adults, pediatrics, and neonates (only for NICU trained).
Therapists will attend all deliveries and cesarean sections.
The coverage area includes inpatient units and a freestanding emergency department, which is a 15-minute drive away.
Therapists may need to float between areas.
Minimum 2 years of experience is acceptable for first-time travelers.
Job duties include drawing and analyzing ABGs, administering treatments, and adjusting ventilator settings.
Travelers are not required to intubate independently but must be able to assist.
An intensivist is present in-house 24/7.
A charge therapist is present on each shift.
For the main hospital, therapists will not be alone; however, they may be the only therapist in the emergency department.
Equipment includes Vent-Avea, Hamilton C1, Bipap-V60, EV300, HiFlow-Aerovo 2, and Zoll vents for backup.
Glidescope equipment is also available for intubation assistance.
Scheduling may vary; block scheduling is not guaranteed but efforts will be made to accommodate.
Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.
Holiday requirements state that travelers will work 2 of 3 major holidays.
Therapists may be placed on low census.
Floating to a freestanding emergency department may be required.
Dress code includes black scrubs.
There will be one day of orientation for each unit and department.
Cancellation policies apply.
Charting system is EPIC.
BSN is not required.
Trauma level handled is 2.
Care setting is acute.
Division is allied health.
