Associate Attorney

Our client is a well-established law firm with a practice focused on real estate, civil litigation, and personal injury matters. The Associate Attorney will manage a caseload under the guidance of senior attorneys and play an active role in supporting clients throughout the legal process. The position will primarily focus on pre-litigation personal injury matters while also providing support on litigation files as needed. The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional client service while developing their legal skills within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of pre-litigation personal injury matters under attorney supervision
• Conduct client intake interviews and case evaluations
• Develop case strategies and provide legal guidance to clients
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and third parties
• Assist senior attorneys with litigation matters
• Attend court hearings, conferences, mediations, and other legal proceedings as assigned
• Draft legal documents, correspondence, and case-related materials
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with deadlines
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support overall case management and firm objectives

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• 2-5 years of experience handling personal injury matters, preferably pre-litigation cases
• Licensed to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, or eligible for prompt admission in both jurisdictions
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong legal drafting and courtroom presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Professional judgment, integrity, and commitment to ethical legal practice
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience handling personal injury matters is preferred but not required
• Demonstrated interest in personal injury, civil litigation, or related practice areas
• Strong commitment to professional development and client service
