Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in Labor and Delivery to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in obstetrics and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Couplet Care, and Triage.
Assist with labor management, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the birthing process.
Monitor patients' vital signs and fetal heart tones and respond to any changes in condition.
Circulate for C-Sections as needed.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to departmental protocols and standards.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery within a hospital setting, with prior travel experience preferred.
Recent experience in Postpartum care and Couplet Care.
Active AK state nursing license, with current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications.
Preferred 5+ years of overall nursing experience.

Commitment Details

12-hour night shifts.
Requirement to float to all departments when necessary.
Work expectations include 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.
Availability for holiday shifts based on unit needs.
Free housing available for one occupant; pet units are not permitted.
Up to 14 days of time off may be requested, including a maximum of 4 weekend shifts. All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application.

Unit Information

17-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit.
Approximately 80 deliveries per month.
