Senior Accountant

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for a long standing company just east of Raleigh. This role reports to the Controller and serves as a key contributor in financial reporting, inventory integrity, month end close, and operational accounting support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and partnering cross-functionally with the operations group.



Responsibilities

• Execute the monthly financial close process, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and review of operating results
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls
• Partner with plant leadership to monitor production activity and ensure accurate financial capture of operational data
• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliation of quantities, valuation review, and investigation of variances
• Oversee transactional accounting processes across payables, receivables, and related subledgers
• Assist in cost analysis and margin reporting to support business decision-making
• Prepare and review customer billing documentation in coordination with internal departments
• Contribute to audit support, reporting requests, and process improvement initiatives within the accounting function

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to manufacturing or distribution environments preferred
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and inventory-related accounting
• Proficiency in Excel and experience working within an ERP-driven environment
