Details Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting Combined general adult/pediatric ED with pediatric ED experience preferred 1:4 patient ratio Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Weekend rotation required No on-call requirement Requirements Active CA RN license required Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications required NIHSS certification required; TNCC preferred Minimum 2-3 years of recent ED experience required Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience required Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of arterial and central lines Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation Experience administering emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation Experience with trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred Neuro-trauma and traumatic brain injury experience preferred Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including suicidal patients and violent behavior Pediatric emergency skills across a range of conditions including asthma, seizures, and head injury Skilled in orthopedic trauma care including splinting Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required Additional Information Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care demonstrating evidence-based practice and strong clinical assessment skills Perform clinical procedures such as IV insertion, Foley catheterization, and dressing changes Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, acting as a patient advocate Work independently and collaboratively within a care team Follow facility safety protocols and report errors or near misses Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible as a traveler Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-749259.
