Job Title: Engineering Project Manager Location: Bethlehem, PA Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $145,000–$150,000/year, plus 6% bonus Hours: Monday- Friday Day

Overview: A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join its team in Bethlehem, PA. This role will lead engineering projects supporting specialty pharmaceutical and injectable drug product manufacturing, including capital projects, facility upgrades, and process installations from concept through completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital and technical projects at a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing site from concept through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements are met.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, vendors, contractors, and provide executive reporting.
• Lead projects involving rotating and static equipment such as pumps, compressors, reactors, vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, and utilities.
• Prepare capital requests, cost estimates, business cases, project charters, and approval documents.
• Coordinate efforts across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Automation, Supply Chain, and EHS teams.
• Support GMP change controls, management of change, user requirements, commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ, validation, and startup procedures.
• Ensure chemical process safety requirements including PSM and hazardous chemical handling are adhered to.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred; other disciplines considered with relevant project experience.
• At least seven years of engineering and project management experience in API pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, petrochemical, or similar regulated process manufacturing.
• Hands-on ownership of capital projects from conception through startup including installation, commissioning, and qualification.
• Experience with process equipment and projects in facilities handling hazardous or regulated chemicals.
• Ability to effectively manage project budgets and schedules and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
