## Lab ScientistApplylocations: 41 East Post Roadtime type: Per diemposted on: Posted 5 Days Agojob requisition id: JR231213**City/State:**White Plains, New York**Department:**WPH Lab Anatomic Pathology\_1**Work Shift:**Evening**Work Days:**DAYS VARY**Scheduled Hours:**Hours Vary**Hours Per Pay Period:**0**Pay Rate/Range:**$32.5058-$61.89/HRFor positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.**Essential Functions*** Understands and adheres to the WPH performance standards, policies, and behaviors* Follows the laboratory’s pre-analytic and analytic procedures and maintaining records of these tests* Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens* Adheres to the laboratory’s quality assurance procedures, including documenting all: quality control activities, including quality control testing and calibrations, instrument equipment verifications, and routine as well as preventative maintenance.* Follows laboratory’s policies and procedures Whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established performance specifications.* Identifying and documenting problems that may adversely affect test performance and notifying the supervisor, assistant director or director and documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications* Ensures the accuracy and quality of all results from pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing.* Notifies and documents clinicians and patient units of all critical values and maintains the laboratory STAT turn around time requirements.* Understands and participates in standard operating procedures, proficiency testing, inspection audits, quality program including reporting non-conformances.* Evaluates test results for abnormalities and confirms those results per department protocols where required.* Participates in validations, training, and competency assessments as required.* Responsible for inventory management of lot numbers, expiration dates, labeling, and QC requirement.* Completes all annual mandatory training, in-services, and ongoing education as required.* Participates in regulatory readiness for CAP, AABB, NYSDOH, and Joint Commission.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Qualifications*** Bachelor Degree Bachelor's or higher Required* Flexibility* Organized* Adaptability* Attention to Detail* Stress Tolerance* Troubleshooting skills* Communication skills both verbal and written* Section testing training and competency assessments are maintained by the section laboratory supervisor for all assigned disciplines* Sections are listed below:* Generalists – performs Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry/Immunology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Blood Bank specialties* Chemistry/Immunology – Performs Chemistry, Specialized Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular, and Serology testing* Hematology – Performs Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis testing* Microbiology – Performs Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Susceptibilities, and Molecular testing* Blood Bank – Performs blood bank testing related to transfusion medicine and blood product distribution.* Anatomic Pathology – Performs histological procedures for routine, specials stains, and immunohistochemistry* CLAB Clinical Lab Technologist - New York State Upon Hire Required or* ASCP - International Medical Laboratory Scientist - AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR CLINICAL PATHOLOGY (ASCP) Preferred* NYS Histotechnologist License: Anatomic Pathology section only Upon Hire Required #J-18808-Ljbffr
