Join the team at Eastside Food Co-op in the Heart of Northeast Minneapolis!We're looking for team members who are visionary, hard-working and committed to community building! Evening and weekend availability required Manager on DutyREPORTS TO: Facilities ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly EmployeeDEPARTMENT: Administration PURPOSE:The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for providing support in all areas of store operations to ensure excellent customer service and a clean and maintained facility, as well as the safety and security of staff, shoppers, property, and assets. The MOD is readily accessible to shoppers and staff, communicates and enforces store policies, and completes other tasks that contribute to the success of the co-op. MOD's are trained in multiple positions across the store in order to provide operational support.ALL CO-OP STAFF WILL:Use all available tools and resources in order to provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service to all customers, coworkers, and vendorsCommunicate professionally and respectfully with everyone you encounter while at workAdhere to all store and department policies and proceduresDemonstrate regular, predictable good attendanceAttend huddles and meetings as scheduledCommit to contributing to a positive, team-building work environmentMANAGER ON DUTY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:As scheduled, open, close, and secure the facility.Ensure the safe and security of staff, shoppers, property, and assets.Respond to, and properly document, emergencies and issues involving customers and staff.Communicate clearly with all department Leads and/or staff to ensure that shift goals are met.Communicate and enforce store policies using best judgement when necessary.Work in a safe manner, following established safety protocols and procedures; ensure that staff work in a safe manner.Respond to customer issues when the specific manager they need is not onsite.Monitor and maintain security logs.Perform temperature checks throughout the store; maintain temperature logs.Maintain the Manager on Duty SharePoint page.Prepare the Community Room for events as needed.Maintain Eastside Food Co-op property, both interior and exterior.Provide staffing support to operations departments as needed.Maintain frequent communication with management team to provide updates and/or areas ofAdditional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:Passion for high quality foods and co-opsExceptional customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to balance multiple prioritiesSelf-motivation; comfortable taking initiative and prioritizing tasksDesire to grow skills and knowledgeWeekend and evening availabilityThe ability to work with limited and no supervisionLeadership skills and experienceDemonstrated ability to follow through on commitmentsAbility to hold others accountable, and provide and accept critical feedbackPHYSICAL DEMANDSStanding, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time per shiftRepetitive bending and lifting of loads up to 50 pounds; pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 400 poundsEnvironmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezer, outdoors, etc.)Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation
