Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Location: Dallas, TX 75204
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $27-$35/hour DOE
No nights or weekends

Position Overview:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in an ambulatory/outpatient healthcare setting.
• Prepare patients for physician examinations and assist with routine clinical procedures.
• Work under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel while supporting physicians and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for examinations and obtain accurate vital signs.
• Obtain basic health information and medical histories.
• Perform EKGs as ordered by the physician.
• Administer injections and medications as directed by the physician and under appropriate supervision.
• Perform TB skin testing according to established protocols.
• Review medications with patients and communicate relevant information to the physician.
• Assist with laboratory result review with physicians/PAs.
• Participate in telephone triage and relay patient concerns and messages to physicians.
• Collaborate with supervising RNs regarding patient interventions when needed.
• Assist with prescription refills according to established clinic protocols.
• Provide follow-up with patients, family members, physicians, and other healthcare staff as necessary.
• Accurately document procedures, patient interactions, and telephone conversations in the medical record.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked exam rooms, laboratory areas, and workspaces.
• Attend staff meetings and remain knowledgeable of clinical policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Ensure patients and family members are treated with courtesy and sensitivity.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Texas LVN State Licensure
• CPR certification
• 3+ years of experience in:
  • Medical/surgical nursing
  • Physician office practice
  • Outpatient/ambulatory clinic
• Basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills.
• Experience with telephone triage and outpatient clinical workflows.
