Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Synthesis of new patient medical records in order to confirm appropriate scheduling of provider visits. Facilitates receipt of additional records as needed. Provides real time support to specialty referral coordinators to assist with scheduling. Acts as primary clinical contact for patients with questions ahead of consult visit. Addresses real or perceived barriers to care identified during initial phone consult. Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team. Provides additional resource referral as needed. Confirms visit readiness. Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Experience : Preferred experience: 3 years within oncology, with at least 1 year in assigned disease group. Licensure : Valid, unencumbered nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. Certification/CEUs : OCN, AOCN, APPN, or CBCN certification. Complete a minimum of 12 CEUs annually with a focus on disease group specialty if certification is not already disease group specific. If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire. Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status. Projects : Participation in a department level quality improvement project annually. Preferred Certification : BMTCN certification required within 24 months. Physical Requirements (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Environmental Factors Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
