HOSPITAL PHARMACIST PRN

Job Summary PRN Hospital Pharmacist to work as needed covering vacation/PTO at AMG Specialty Hospital – Hancock Campus. The pharmacist adjusts and dispenses medication to patients, verifies physician orders using the pharmacy information system, makes adjustments according to protocols, provides patient education, supervises pharmacy technicians, and manages compliance tasks related to accreditation, narcotics control, and inventory management. Responsibilities Apply expert knowledge of drugs and related protocols to verify physician orders using the pharmacy information system. Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide guidance on complex prescriptions and pharmacy automation systems. Adjust dosages based on established protocols and complete clinical tasks related to antimicrobial stewardship. Educate patients on proper use and expected effects of medications. Manage narcotics and inventory control, maintain documentation, and audit outdated medication. Contact nurses and physicians as necessary to verify orders and obtain additional information. Assist the Pharmacy Director in maintaining accreditation and implementing operational changes. Qualifications Licensed pharmacist in good standing in the state of Indiana or willing to become licensed in the state. In‑patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Flexibility to work various shifts. IV experience preferred or willing to obtain. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation. Manual dexterity for occasional reach, lifting, and holding of small objects. Computer savvy to learn and operate multiple pharmacy information systems. May require vendor credentialing.
