Insurance Litigation Associate - Los Angeles, Orange County or San Francisco/Oakland

Responsibilities Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals Conducting legal research and writing memoranda Drafting complex case analyses and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents Conducting, propounding and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions) Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel Salary and Benefits Based on California law, the salary range for this position will be $235,000 to $325,000 based on experience and location. According to years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Position Requirements Personal skills/attributes Exceptional writing and analytical skills, and effectively communicates research into meaningful written work product Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, as well as adversaries and courts Dedicated and goal‑oriented, with a strong work ethic Possesses superior organizational and time‑management skills Embraces client service with respect to internal and external clients Excellent interpersonal, networking and business development skills Embraces teamwork and values collaboration Technical skills 2‑5 years of experience in complex, sophisticated litigation is required Genuine interest in insurance litigation is required Strong writing and case management skills, level appropriate direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills are required Deposition and court experience is preferred Other requirements Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing Submission of a cover letter, law school transcript, writing sample; the cover letter should detail the candidate’s complex litigation experience to date, including any insurance litigation experience.
