About the POST Clinical Mentorship Program Most PT residencies are designed to help you pass an exam. You complete the hours, sit for boards, and get the letters. The credential is real. The development is inconsistent. The POST Clinical Mentorship Program was built on a different premise entirely. This is a 14-month structured post-professional development experience modeled as a hands‑on immersion for people who learn by doing the real thing under the guidance of someone who has already done it. Luke Ferdinands, PT — POST's founder and the program's primary mentor — is will graduate from Harvard's OPM program in the Fall of 2026. That is not a credential on a wall. It is the reason this program is structured the way it is. Two things are developed in parallel: specialist-level clinical reasoning real business acumen What is taught is immediately applied. What is applied is refined in mentorship. There is no gap between what you learn and what you do. The program culminates in a dual capstone: a clinical evidence‑based project built for publication or conference presentation, and a business or product concept taken to market inside POST's patient base before you graduate. You will know if it worked. That is the point. The Therapist in Residence The Therapist in Residence is not a staff PT with extra obligations. It is a dedicated role — protected time, reduced caseload, and a structured environment designed for one purpose: developing the kind of clinician and operator most PT programs never produce. You will carry a reduced caseload specifically structured to protect time for learning, reflection, and development. Your caseload is a teaching caseload — selected and managed to advance your clinical reasoning at every session. Throughout the residency you will: Develop specialist-level examination precision and diagnostic reasoning in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, applied to a high‑performance patient population. Participate in weekly dedicated group mentorship sessions covering clinical frameworks, case-based reasoning, advanced examination technique, and treatment decision‑making. Meet weekly in dedicated 1:1 mentorship with Luke Ferdinands, DPT — POST's founder and a Harvard Business School OPM graduate. These sessions are structured, progressive, and built entirely around your development. Not a check‑in. Not a performance review. A mentorship session with someone who has built the thing you are learning to build. Complete the POST business and product development track beginning in month five — covering practice economics, service design, and product positioning — and then apply it by taking an original concept to market using POST's patient base, brand, and infrastructure. Present a dual capstone — clinical and commercial — to POST leadership and invited peers at the conclusion of the program. What Comes After the Residency Therapists in Residence are on a defined path, not left to figure out what's next. Full-time staff clinician at POST, carrying an independent caseload at specialist standard and contributing informally to the program culture through case reviews and peer feedback. Clinicians who demonstrate the clinical and communication skills to teach are invited into a formal mentorship support role — co‑mentoring alongside Luke, leading selected didactic sessions, and shaping the curriculum for the cohort that follows them. Long Term As POST expands into more locations and beyond, program graduates are positioned to grow into clinical leadership roles. The path from Therapist in Residence to mentor to leader is built into how this practice operates. Each cohort raises the standard of the next.
