About This Role The Per Diem RN in Hematology Oncology at Mount Sinai is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in patient care, while collaborating with a designated care team to achieve health goals. Highlights Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai Department/Unit: Hematology Oncology - CCD Schedule: Per Diem Pay: $69/hour What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Develop discharge planning consistent with the patient’s status. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with matriculation in a BSN program is acceptable. Experience Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials. Licenses & Certifications Current RN License in New York. BCLS certification required. ACLS certification required for specific departments. PALS certification required for specific departments. Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate required for specific departments.
