Behavior Intervention Specialist

The Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) partners with an interdisciplinary team to support the behavioral and mental health needs of individuals in residential and program-based settings. This role focuses on assessment, behavior planning, staff training, and ongoing behavioral support across multiple locations.

Job Function:

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
• Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Provide individual and group counseling as needed.
• Train and support staff in behavior management strategies.
• Review behavioral data and adjust plans as needed.
• Debrief staff following significant behavioral incidents.
• Coordinate referrals for psychiatric, psychological, or counseling services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and reviews.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation.

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree in a behavioral health-related field or BCBA certification with a relevant master's degree.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Experience independently conducting assessments and developing Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Bachelor's degree in a related human services field.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Level 1 BIS, as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain SCIP or PROMOTE certification.
