Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Hillsborough, New Jersey, where you will interact with a diverse patient population. The work environment is collaborative and fast-paced, with a focus on delivering high-quality orthopedic care. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment, ensuring you have the tools needed to provide optimal patient services. You will work Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, enabling you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Executing treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
• Conducting patient evaluations under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, contributing to the identification of specific rehabilitation goals.
• Performing therapeutic interventions, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities, tailored to individual patient needs.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nursing staff and referral physicians, to coordinate optimal patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, reflecting treatment sessions and patient progress in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Providing education and training to patients and their families regarding home exercise programs and continued care protocols post-discharge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role is on outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, servicing a variety of patients, including those recovering from surgical procedures, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will deliver care to a broad demographic, ensuring effective treatment that respects the unique needs and backgrounds of each patient, ultimately fostering better health outcomes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
• A current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New Jersey.
• Two years of hands-on experience working as a PTA, demonstrating proficiency in outpatient orthopedics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for effectively interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience will be given preference:

• Prior experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, including knowledge of exercise protocols, manual therapy techniques, and sports rehabilitation.
• A proactive approach to patient care that includes ongoing assessment and modification of the treatment plan based on patient feedback and clinical observations.
• Proven ability to multitask and manage a challenging patient caseload efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
