Key Responsibilities\n \n Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of elderly clients and develop personalized treatment plans. \n Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional challenges pertinent to aging, such as anxiety, depression, and grief. \n Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to craft comprehensive care plans that include physical, emotional, and social support strategies. \n Educate caregivers and family members on effective techniques to enhance the emotional well-being of seniors, fostering a supportive home environment. \n Provide grief counseling to both residents and families navigating end-of-life issues, ensuring compassionate care during difficult transitions. \n Lead cognitive stimulation workshops designed to improve mental acuity, utilizing evidence-based interventions. \n Patient Population / Client Focus\n Our primary focus is on the geriatric population, including individuals coping with significant life changes such as retirement, the loss of loved ones, and health challenges. The counselor must demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence to effectively engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that their unique experiences inform the therapeutic process. Qualifications\n \n A master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. \n A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification. \n A minimum of four years of recent clinical experience in geriatric mental health counseling. \n Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices suitable for the elderly population. \n Strong skills in conducting assessments and formulating treatment plans tailored to individual client needs. \n Excellent interpersonal, communication, and empathetic skills. \n Preferred Experience\n \n Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health, including coping strategies for age-related issues. \n Previous experience providing telehealth services is preferred, but not required. \n Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration in a healthcare setting. \n Compensation and Benefits\n We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 65,000 – 95,000, commensurate with experience.
