Assistant Traffic Engineer City of Boca Raton, FL $106,905 – $130,000 Annually Help Shape the Future of Transportation in Boca Raton The City of Boca Raton is seeking an experienced Assistant Traffic Engineer to support transportation planning, traffic operations, and multimodal mobility initiatives. This is a high-impact role working on development review, roadway level of service, Vision Zero, complete streets, and capital improvement projects in a growing coastal city. Why Join Boca Raton? 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental & Vision (employee) 12 paid holidays + PTO + 3 floating holidays Flexible work schedule Annual service bonus (after 5 years) Two retirement/pension options What You’ll Do Conduct traffic studies, transportation analyses, and mobility planning Review development projects and traffic impact analyses Support Vision Zero and complete streets initiatives Manage consultants and transportation projects Respond to resident traffic concerns and safety requests Assist with Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects Collaborate with FDOT, Palm Beach County, and local stakeholders Supervise staff or consultants and support division operations What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Traffic, or Transportation Engineering 5+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain FL PE within 1 year) Experience with traffic modeling/software (Synchro, HCS, SIDRA preferred) Preferred Experience with complete streets or multimodal projects Additional Requirements Valid Florida driver1s license Ability to pass background check, MVR, and drug screening Apply Your Expertise Where It Matters Join a city committed to safe, efficient, and forward-thinking transportation solutions while growing your career in public sector engineering leadership.
