Job Title

Sterile Processing Technician

Location

Durango, CO | Sterile Processing Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 4x10 shifts | Mid shifts available: Days (0600–1630) and Evenings (1300–2300) | On-site

Key Responsibilities

• Perform instrument assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of typical OR instrumentation
• Operate ultrasonic equipment, decontamination systems, and VPRO sterilizers
• Support sterile processing for a broad range of surgical cases including Ortho, Spine, Robotic, General, Urology, Gyn, and ENT
• Adhere to a 30-minute call response time when on call
• Participate in self-scheduling for holidays; call coverage expected approximately every 8 weeks (24-hour Saturday and Sunday call rotation)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience
• Active BLS certification required
• Active CRCST or CBSPD certification required
• Proficiency with ultrasonic equipment, decontamination, assembly, and VPRO sterilization systems
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Clinicians must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience processing instrumentation for complex surgical specialties such as Spine, Robotics, or Orthopedics
• Familiarity with a high-volume, multi-suite sterile processing environment (9 OR suites)
