Staff Accountant I

Staff Accountant IUnder routine supervision, this position is an entry level accountant role responsible for assuring that business owned accounts are fairly and accurately represented on company financial statements. Responsibilities will involve developing innovative and effective solutions to problems in financial analysis, reporting and forecasting. Routines are generally prescribed and supervision is readily available.Key Responsibilities:Assist with analysis and review of the organization's financial performance by collecting, analyzing and reporting financial and statistical dataMaintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and similar regulatory requirementsWork with various departments to assist with their expense management strategies and proceduresAnalyze trends affecting budget needsSupport the preparation of operating budgets with and for various departments to support organization's expense management goalsPerform accounting functions for the organization, including record keeping and reportingExamine and review unusual cost records and ensure cost data is allocated correctlySupport the creation of standard reports on financial performance for internal and external useCreate and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial resultsQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field and/or an equivalent combination of educationAND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesProficient in MS Office Suite, ExcelAbility to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesAbility to work both individually, as a team, and cross-functionally within the organizationBasic deductive reasoning skills with ability to interpret data sets and provide actionable insightsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAct with integrity, objectivity, and due professional carePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field and/or an equivalent combination of education of 0 to 2 years of Finance and/or Accounting or relevant experienceThis position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
