Corporate Accountant Full Time PTO Professional Juneau, AK, US 6 days ago Requisition ID: 1597 Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually Job Title: Corporate Accountant Reports To: Controller Department: Finance Category: Full-Time, Exempt Location: Juneau, Alaska Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 (commensurate with experience) Position Summary The Corporate Accountant supports financial operations, monthly and annual close activities, reconciliations, and audit compliance across Huna Totem Corporation and its subsidiary entities. This role is responsible for maintaining general ledger accuracy, preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The position provides exposure to diverse business operations including tourism, federal contracting, and strategic investments and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Core Accounting Prepare and post journal entries Complete balance sheet and account reconciliations Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger Prepare financial statements and internal management reports Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies Support budgeting and forecasting activities Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making Compliance, Audit & Process Improvement Support external audits and respond to audit requests Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Assist with maintaining accounting procedures and documentation Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions as needed Perform other related duties as assigned Physical Requirements & Work Environment Primarily office-based with periodic site visits Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Occasional travel, including travel by small aircraft Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Three to seven (3–7) years of corporate accounting experience Full-cycle accounting experience required Experience supporting external audits preferred Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct preferred Strong working knowledge of GAAP CPA or progress toward CPA licensure preferred Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving Native Preference: P.L. 93-638 preference for shareholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr Icy Strait Point Company
