Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant operating within our Surgical Center, you will experience a collaborative and fast-paced environment ensuring exceptional patient care. You will work onsite, interacting closely with our team of five board-certified MDs and five experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs). Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources designed to aid you in delivering effective healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients and review their medical records to inform clinical decisions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work, X-rays, and other imaging studies to determine the appropriate course of action.
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses accurately while proposing medically sound treatments for both chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications and create therapeutic plans that align with established healthcare best practices.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient encounters, ensuring accurate medical records and timely updates to health schedules.
• Inform patients and their families about health conditions and the prescribed medication regimens through clear and digestible communication.
• Provide education on disease prevention and promote healthy lifestyle choices through wellness programs and direct patient engagement.
• Utilize evidence-based research to continuously advance your clinical knowledge and improve care quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as a Physician Assistant will involve direct interactions with a diverse patient population, including children and adults seeking primary care services. You will focus on chronic disease management, acute injuries, and preventative healthcare, ensuring that each patient receives tailored care that meets their specific needs. The emphasis on outpatient services highlights your contribution to managing patients’ health in a proactive manner.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a Physician Assistant in various clinical settings including outpatient primary care, acute care, or urgent care is essential.
• Must hold a valid Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas and possess the PA-C certification.
• A current DEA number is necessary for prescribing medications.
• Strong communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate approach in patient interactions.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining a collaborative and positive attitude.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in primary care, family medicine, or managed care settings is advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, enhancing workflow efficiency and patient management.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus, allowing for broader patient communication; however, they are not a mandatory requirement.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 140,000 and 180,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. In addition to a lucrative salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
