EHS Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an EHS Specialist for a contract/temporary opportunity in Sabana Grande, PR within a manufacturing environment. This role supports Environmental, Health, and Safety programs that help maintain regulatory compliance, reduce workplace risk, and promote a safe, responsible, and well-organized operation.

The EHS Specialist will work closely with site leadership, operations teams, and employees to strengthen safety practices, support environmental compliance, and maintain accurate documentation. 

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS compliance programs, policies, procedures, and site safety plans.
- Conduct safety observations, inspections, and follow-ups to help ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, permits, and company standards.
- Participate in incident, near-miss, and property damage investigations, including documentation, root cause support, and corrective action tracking.
- Manage environmental reporting activities related to air, stormwater, and surface water, ensuring accurate data collection and records.
- Coordinate and track employee safety training, EHS initiatives, regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Support environmental best practices, preventive maintenance documentation, facility maintenance coordination, and operational compliance activities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $18 to $20 per hour.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree completed, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an EHS Specialist or in a similar EHS, safety, environmental, or compliance role.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards, environmental regulations, permits, and workplace safety requirements.
- Proficiency with MS Office for reporting, documentation, tracking, and communication.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, communication ability, and a proactive approach to safety and compliance.
