QUALITY INSPECTOR

Quality Inspector

Reports to: Quality Manager

Duties & Tasks

• Perform routine quality audits throughout the production facility
• Perform in-process inspections on production floor, including first-piece and last-piece inspections
• Perform dimensional layout inspection as required
• Perform quality-related training for employees
• Perform receiving inspection and random dock audits
• Perform calibration activities occasionally to verify specifications
• Follow all policies and procedures
• Visit suppliers and customers as required
• Sort product for quality defects as required
• Provide back-up coverage for other quality positions as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior quality engineer or quality manager
• Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Technical Knowledge

• Familiarity with Windows OS, Keyboard, mouse and scanner.
• Capable of reading and understanding Blue Prints
• Basic Reading capability
• Basic Math capability
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and analyze part prints.
• Six (6) months inspection experience in the metal industry.
• Full understanding of the proper use of measurement devices such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, protractors, pressure gages, etc.
