Details Community hospital Emergency Department with an 8-bed unit Average daily census of 60 patients Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) Weekend shifts required, varying based on staffing needs No on-call requirements Floating required to all community hospital ED units and may occur between departments, units, and facilities as needed Uses EPIC EMR system Staffing model includes 1:1 ED RNs, 1-2 providers, 1 MSI RN, 1 charge nurse, 1-2 paramedics, radiology tech, and patient access reps Requirements Active RN license (Kansas and Missouri, or compact) required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (TNCC preferred) Minimum 3 years of ER experience required 2 years of recent specialty experience with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year Required skills: obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering emergency medications Experience with a wide range of ED presentations including ACS, CVA/TIA, respiratory conditions, sepsis, trauma, abdominal pain, behavioral health emergencies, and neurological complaints Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Epic charting experience preferred SSN required at time of consideration Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year Additional Information Provide emergency care across a broad range of medical, surgical, trauma, and behavioral health cases Manage patients presenting with any condition or complaint at any time Participate in a working-lunch environment due to high patient volume Hospital is single-floor, split between ED and med-surg/intermediate care unit Maximum RTO of 7 days, finalized at time of submission with no changes allowed post-offer Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment First-time travelers are not accepted for this role Previous permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Travelers with less than 18 months tenure must have a 3-month break in service before returning American Traveler Job ID P-749868.
