IMMEDIATE job opportunity for a driven individual who has a proven track record of performance and desire to work for a well-established organization. We are looking for an experienced  Maintenance Mechanic I for a premier American manufacturer of specialty fasteners, custom, and standard metal components located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Essential Functions

§ Complete assigned preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective work orders accurately and on time using the COGZ Maintenance/PM system.

§ Install, assemble, test, inspect, and repair processing, packaging, forging, grinding, rolling, utility, water treatment, and air compressor equipment to minimize downtime across all facilities.

§ Ensure all repairs, installations, and modifications comply with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP standards, and LOTO procedures.

§ Prepare job kits for repairs, ensuring required tools, parts, and materials are available.

§ Monitor equipment performance through routine inspections, troubleshooting, and testing; respond promptly to abnormal sounds, smells, temperatures, or performance changes.

§ Perform emergency, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and temporary repairs, ensuring permanent solutions are documented and scheduled to prevent recurrence.

§ Conduct weekly plant inspections, identify deficiencies, and communicate concerns to the Manufacturing Manager. Maintain equipment efficiency to support on-time production within budget; ensure machines are operational by shift end or properly escalated.

Qualifications

§ Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and powertrain systems, including gearboxes, motors, chains, belts, pulleys, sprockets, forging equipment, and air compressors.

§ Experience with electrical systems, including 480/220/110V, motors, contactors, frequency drives, and diagnostic tools such as multimeters (electrical experience preferred).

§ Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding and the use of hand, shop, and precision maintenance tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers).

§ Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing production machinery independently, including emergency response and problem resolution.

§ Knowledgeable in proper lubrication and preventive maintenance practices for bearings, chains, and mechanical components.

§ Proficient in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and committed to quality, safety, and GMP standards.  Able to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation, including schematics, CAD drawings, engineering designs, manuals, and regulatory guidelines.  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and CMMS systems (COGZ preferred).  Ability to read, write, and speak English; Spanish is a plus. High School Diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.

§ Valid driver’s license required; must be able to operate heavy equipment and travel to pick up or deliver parts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

§  Ability to read & understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operation. Ability to use power tools, pneumatic tools. Must possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in welding.

§  Basic computer knowledge.

Compensation: $25 - $30/hr. DOE
