ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The role involves providing critical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within a fast-paced environment. The ICU consists of 16 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, ensuring high-quality care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU, monitoring and assessing patients' conditions.
• Titrate intravenous medications and manage drips (e.g., Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, Precedex).
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists and intensivists, to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize and manage respiratory therapy equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPap.
• Maintain electronic health records using the Meditech EHR system.

Shifts and Scheduling

Shifts available are from 0645 to 1915 or 1845 to 0715. This position requires rotating weekends every other week and participation in major and minor holidays. Additionally, the ICU RN may be placed on call for low census occasions and must be able to respond within 30 minutes if called in.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute or critical care.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Information

Unit-specific orientation will be provided over 2 shifts. The dress code consists of black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki scrub colors. Nurse aides are not available on this unit, so all nursing duties will be performed by RNs. Monitoring of telemetry will be handled by RNs.
