Cardiovascular Special Procedures Tech – Cardiac Cath Lab Position highlights – Work location: Texas Health HEB: 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022 – Work hours: Full Time, 36 hours weekly, 4 9‑hour shifts; Call required. Qualifications Education: Associate's Degree in Applied Science required or completion of accredited program in cardiovascular technology. H.S. diploma or equivalent with 2 years work experience in invasive cardiology also acceptable. Licenses and Certifications (must be obtained upon or within 6 months of hire): ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required; GMRT – General Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT only; RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist if graduated from accredited program; LMRT – Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist if RCIS only; RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist for EP labs only; BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly; ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days; CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days. Experience: 1 year vascular or cardiac angiography preferred, 2 years required with high school diploma. Cath Lab experience strongly preferred. Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency. Responsibilities Patient Care – Prepares room for examination (suction, oxygen, supplies). Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time‑out procedures. Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing – Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age‑related factors. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique. Equipment Operation and Maintenance – Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunctions.
