Apartment Maintenance Technician (Mesa, AZ) CVG Properties is actively searching for a skilled and enthusiastic Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our Mesa Maintenance Team! As a Maintenance Technician, you will work alongside the Maintenance Team and Community Manager to provide excellent customer service to our residents, keep the grounds and buildings well maintained, and prepare apartments for future move-ins. This is a hands-on position and requires some of your own tools. Previous apartment maintenance experience is preferred. What You'll Do Complete make-ready turns, including painting, repairs, appliance testing, mechanical work, and carpentry, and report any maintenance concerns on appliances, HVAC, electrical, and more (e.g., replacing light bulbs in common areas and breezeways, replacing window screens, replacing air filters, moving appliances) Report maintenance concerns on available apartments, models, and common areas to the Community Manager Respond to service work orders to make technical repairs or replacements, and assist the maintenance staff as needed Answer and resolve after-hours emergency calls on a rotating schedule with the Maintenance Team Maintain meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities, and building exteriors, including minor landscaping duties as needed and pressure washing Interact and communicate effectively with residents, property staff, and vendors to complete maintenance duties and requests Observe and promote safety and risk management in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policy Promote resident satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and prospective residents at all times Conduct pre-move-in and post-move-out apartment inspections and ensure timely completion of quality unit turns Work Perks In addition to a collaborative and supportive team environment, we offer: Competitive salary with monthly and on-call incentives Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off for vacation, sick days, and holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match Professional development training Excellent growth and promotion opportunities Employee referral incentives Apartment rent discounts, bonuses, and recognition for a job well done! A great team environment with a company that understands the value of your hard work Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 1+ years of experience in residential/apartment property management or a directly related field General maintenance, HVAC, and carpentry skills EPA Section 608 Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a defined period of hire) Yardi experience preferred Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to others Ability to communicate in English - verbally and in writing - sufficient to respond to on-call and after-hours service calls, interact effectively with residents, and accurately complete on-call and site inspection logs Valid driver's license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, and current auto insurance required Compliance with all safety requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment Ability to work evenings and weekends if/when necessary (including on-call rotation) Understanding of and adherence to Fair Housing laws Physical Requirements This position involves physical activity typical of apartment maintenance, including walking the property, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
