Details Night shift NICU role with a choice of 4x12-hour shifts (1900-0730) with no call, or 3x12-hour shifts with call Call requirement (if applicable): at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly Every other weekend coverage required unless staffing needs change Floating required to other NICU units or facilities as needed Uses Pyxis/Omnicell for unit medication systems and EPIC for documentation Cares for neonates 22 weeks gestation and older with diagnoses including HIE, RDS, sepsis, congenital anomalies, and NAS Performs and supports special procedures such as full body cooling, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and laser eye surgery Utilizes specialized equipment including Artic Sun, HFOV, Draeger and GE ventilators, Bubble CPAP, and dual incubators Requirements Active RN license (SC or Compact) required Current certifications in BLS, NRP, and STABLE Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required At least 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required NICU II and III experience required Experience with 1:2 patient ratios Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and neonatal medication administration Proficient in respiratory care including ventilator management, HFNC, and nitric oxide therapy Experience with developmental care, thermoregulation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management Prior travel nursing experience required Additional Information Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care across a range of complex neonatal diagnoses and surgical recovery needs Support surgical repair of anomalies (excluding cardiac) and manage post-operative neonatal patients Perform therapeutic hypothermia and other advanced neonatal interventions Teaching hospital experience preferred Orientation occurs weekly with mandatory annual compliance training Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment Local candidates may be considered based on facility radius requirements American Traveler Job ID P-736347.
