Accounting Clerk

$19.5 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primarily Revenue Audit tasks. Prepares month‑end bank reconciliations. Prepares month‑end account reconciliations. Completes monthly journal entries and accruals. Records cash transfer/wire journal entries. Balances the accounts payable trial balance. Verifies mathematical accuracy of invoices, codes, and processes invoices. Reconciles monthly vendor statements and addresses any issues. Processes tax payments accurately and timely. Generates check runs and reports as requested. Prints checks in the absence of Horsemen Bookkeeper. Assists with research and impromptu projects. Assists in Direct Bill. Provides enthusiastic support, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reports potential issues to management. Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and or company management. Follows all cleaning, sanitation and PPE position‑specific guidelines. Supervisory Responsibilities This job will have no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four‑year college or university preferred. 0‑2 years of related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English. Must be at least 21 years of age. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licences, Registration Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. Physical Demands The physical demands described include regular standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent reaching with hands and arms; and regular lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Work Environment The work environment characteristics include a usually moderate noise level and potential exposure to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke. Position Requirements This position requires attendance during the first five business days of the month, may require weekends, and extended work hours. No PTO may be taken during the end‑of‑month process (first five business days of the month).
