Title: AI Solutions Architect Location : Reston, VA Position Summary Johnson Technology Systems Inc. (JTSi) is building the next generation of AI-native infrastructure for U.S. federal contracting. We are looking for an AI Solutions Architect to own the design, development, and delivery of intelligent platforms across our proposal automation, talent acquisition, and CRM integration workstreams. This role sits at the center of JTSi's AI Initiatives R&D function. You will architect multi-LLM pipelines, design retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems over federal contracting corpora, and integrate AI capabilities directly into OfficeGaps—JTSi's proprietary SaaS CRM. You are both a technical builder and a systems thinker who can translate defense and civilian agency workflows into production-ready AI tooling.

KEY PROJECTS YOU WILL OWN

JTSi Vertex — Federal Proposal Management Platform Vertex is JTSi's internal AI platform that automates the federal proposal lifecycle end-to-end—from opportunity ingestion across SAM.gov and GovWin through compliance-checked draft generation. Built on multi-LLM orchestration (Claude and GPT), RAG-based retrieval over past proposals and CPARS records, and a FastAPI integration layer connected to OfficeGaps. Extend and scale the document ingestion, parsing, and vector retrieval pipeline (Chroma, Pinecone) Orchestrate multi-model LLM workflows across scope analysis, requirement extraction, FAR compliance review, and past-performance matching Own the FastAPI integration exposing Vertex capabilities to OfficeGaps and downstream JTSi workflows Drive Vertex from pilot phase into full production across JTSi's proposal and business development teams Formant AI — Document & Resume Intelligence Platform Formant is JTSi's AI-powered document and resume formatting engine. The platform automates candidate document processing, normalizes resume inputs to enterprise templates, and serves as the intelligent document layer feeding both AI Recruiter and broader talent acquisition workflows. Architect the document processing and normalization pipeline for federal staffing and proposal documents Design and extend LLM-driven formatting logic to support multi-format output (federal templates, ATS-optimized, executive-ready) Build and maintain the Formant workspace and user-facing interface—standalone homepage and functional processing environment Integrate Formant's document intelligence layer with OfficeGaps Contacts and Procurement tabs via the Agentic AI Initiative What we Offer Direct ownership of production AI systems Clearance sponsorship pathway for eligible candidates Path to technical leadership in a growing AI practice Collaborative R&D environment with real deployment stakes Federal contracting domain exposure across civilian and defense Access to frontier LLM tooling (Claude, GPT, Gemini, CoPilot) Competitive compensation and growth trajectory Tight-knit team with high autonomy and direct leadership access Key Responsibilities Design end-to-end AI system architecture for federal contracting use cases: proposal automation, document intelligence, and talent acquisition Build, maintain, and scale RAG pipelines over structured and unstructured federal corpora (RFPs, CPARS, FAR clauses, past proposals) Orchestrate multi-LLM workflows (Claude, GPT) across document analysis, compliance review, and content generation tasks Develop and maintain FastAPI services integrating AI platform capabilities into OfficeGaps and other enterprise systems Lead the Agentic AI Initiative—identify, scope, and deliver AI enhancements to the Contacts and Procurement tabs within OfficeGaps Maintain vector stores (Chroma, Pinecone) and embedding pipelines ensuring retrieval quality and latency targets are met Collaborate with proposal, recruiting, and business development teams to translate operational workflows into AI product specifications Own technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and stakeholder-facing demonstrations of platform capabilities Lead a four-person AI Initiatives R&D team—conduct weekly standups, manage sprint planning, and drive delivery accountability Required Qualifications Python (FastAPI, Streamlit) Prompt engineering and structured output design LLM orchestration: Claude, GPT APIs Federal contracting domain knowledge RAG pipeline design and implementation SAM.gov and GovWin workflow familiarity Vector search: Chroma, Pinecone Document parsing and chunking pipelines REST API design and SaaS integration GitHub, VS Code, Claude Code SQL and data engineering fundamentals B.S. in IT, Computer Science, or related field Preferred Qualifications FAR compliance review experience SAP Technology Consultant certification CPARS and past-performance analysis IBM Generative AI Engineer certification Agentic AI / multi-agent framework design U.S. citizenship with clearance eligibility Power BI, Tableau, or dashboard tooling Experience in defense or civilian federal contracting We recruit, employ, train, compensate and promote without regard to race, religion, color, citizenship, national origin, age, sex, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
