Substitute Food Service Worker

The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, facilitating, and maintaining food programs and kitchen/cafeteria areas on a substitute basis. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: performing any and all tasks deemed necessary by the Director of Food Services to facilitate the provision of meals to students pursuant to the regulations of the National School Lunch Program and/or its associated programs; food preparation, food service at meal times, operating a cash register, encouragement toward healthy eating, and clean up of any equipment and kitchen areas related to the preparation, serving and consumption of school meals according to the USDA Child Nutrition Program Regulations and HACCP procedures; preparation of serving lines and serving meals for each lunch period; review and completion of items assigned daily by the Food Service Manager, Assistant Manager/Cook, FSD or AFSD in addition to completing tasks assigned on the Job Task List; safe operation of all cafeteria equipment; clean-up and sanitation of cafeteria area, equipment, and serving lines following HACCP procedures; operation of dishwasher and 3-compartment sink for proper sanitation of all food service small equipment; and other duties may be assigned.
