Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift: 12 Nights; 36 hours/week

Experience: 2+ years Med/Surg Tele experience

License: Current NYS RN License

Certifications: BLS Certification, ACLS

Must-Have: Epic experience preferred

Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.
Prevention of illness and injury is a key responsibility.
The alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses is essential.
Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a crucial part of the role.
The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice.
Adherence to professional development in accordance with nursing practice acts and policies is required.
The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.


Job Responsibilities:
Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients.
Serves as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment.
Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact.
Educates patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology to administer medications safely.
Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and time management.
Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
Actively participates in and supports nursing governance models.
Engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements.
Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Fulfills other assigned duties.


Required Skills & Experience:
Nursing (RN) experience of six months to three years.
Management experience of zero to three years.
Five or more years of direct experience in nursing.
Collaboration skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Judgement and critical thinking abilities.
Organizational understanding.
Planning and time management skills.
Problem-solving capabilities.
Focus on quality and reliability.
Safety and risk management understanding.


Preferred Skills & Experience:
Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.


Required Education:
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.


Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.


Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
Relevant skills certification, as required by the assigned unit.
