Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, qualified, and patient-focused Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment planning for patients experiencing mental health conditions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered mental health care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
• Diagnose psychiatric and behavioral health conditions within the scope of licensure.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' clinical needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, medication response, and potential adverse effects.
• Provide supportive therapy and brief psychotherapy when appropriate and within the provider's training and scope of practice.
• Assess suicide risk, self-harm risk, and other psychiatric emergencies; implement appropriate safety plans and referrals.
• Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic health records.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies.
• Coordinate referrals and continuity of care with community mental health resources.
• Comply with applicable healthcare regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license, as applicable.
• Current, unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
• Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification, such as ANCC certification, as required by the position and applicable regulations.
• Current DEA registration, if required for prescribing responsibilities.
• Knowledge of psychiatric assessment, psychopharmacology, diagnostic criteria, and evidence-based treatment.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and protect patient confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in outpatient psychiatry, inpatient behavioral health, community mental health, or private practice.
• Experience treating adults, adolescents, children, or other populations relevant to the practice.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telepsychiatry.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and integrated behavioral health services.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
