Program Manager

Position Overview Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) is seeking a Program Manager for the Outpatient Services. The Program Manager will provide clinical and administrative direction and oversight to assigned programs and closely monitor program integrity to comply with all regulatory requirements, responsible for ongoing program development and implementation of Best Practice interventions. Key Responsibilities Directs the administrative and clinical organization of the program. Interviews candidates for vacant positions and makes hiring recommendation to the Human Resources Department. Maintains knowledge of trends and development in the mental health field; regularly attends and participates in in-service meetings and other designated training events that will enhance clinical skills and maintain best practices. Reviews the quality of clinical records and provides ongoing feedback to clinicians on their documentation. Completes required qualitative chart reviews as requested by the Clinical Documentation Subcommittee. Completes Annual Employee Health Update (to include PPD). Supports the University’s goal on Workplace Diversity and EEO goals and objectives concerning employment and promotional opportunities. Qualifications Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a behavioral health discipline and five (5) years of postgraduate experience in a relevant behavioral healthcare setting. Two (2) years supervisory experience. An appropriate doctorate may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work. Clinical licensing as required by discipline. License for independent clinical mental health practice (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a licensed Psychologist) as required by discipline and New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. Extensive knowledge and experience with behavioral healthcare prevention services. Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment. Demonstrated knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment. Physical Demands and Work Environment The employee spends much time walking, standing, and bending throughout the program space while talking with staff and patients/consumers. Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk across program space, communicate and document using computer. Ability to travel throughout the state of NJ. Moderate noise level, fast paced environment that demands constant attention to multiple programmatic needs. Compensation and Benefits Salary: Minimum $105,763.00 – Mid Range $133,789.00 – Maximum $161,814.00. Full-time, on-site position (37.5 hours per week, day shift).
