Facilities Technician – Student Union Building About the SUB: The Student Union Building is a big part of campus life – it’s a fun, fast‑paced, and high‑energy work environment where students can make connections, collaborate with one another, and have memorable experiences. Position Summary: This role supports the daily operations and maintenance of the Student Union Building in a fun, fast‑paced, student‑centered environment, reporting to the Student Facilities Technician Manager. Facilities Technicians assist with the facility’s upkeep and operations by completing work orders and tasks assigned by the Facilities Operations Manager. This position works closely with the operations team and custodial team to ensure the Student Union is a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community. The role includes responding to the needs of the facility, fixing minor maintenance issues, ensuring spaces are ready for events and meetings, assisting in servicing retail locations across campus, and helping with setup/tear‑down of large events. Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine facility checks. Perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, moving heavy equipment, etc. Lift, push, pull, and manipulate at least 30 pounds. Work collaboratively as a team. Work independently as needed. Follow verbal and written instructions. Assist Operations team as needed. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures. Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows‑based operating environment. Ability to use hand tools applicable to trade. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Location & Compensation Campus: Main – Albuquerque, NM. Pay: $15.00 hourly.
