Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Description A Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, ensuring donor safety and compliance with industry and company standards. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, provide AIDS education, and self‑exclusion procedures. Conduct medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, implement Center Physician standing orders and facilitate donor transport to emergency care. Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and assess needs for further evaluation by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) and comply with BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. Qualifications High school diploma or graduate‑equivalent nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where duties will be performed (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification. State‑required basic IV therapy training. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Knowledge of plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment (preferred).
