Job Description

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Technician supports the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment for a new facility expansion. This role plays a critical part in bringing new systems online, validating equipment performance, resolving startup issues, and ensuring the reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and automation systems. The position is ideal for a multi-craft technician with experience in industrial facilities, equipment commissioning, controls, automation, robotics, and facility support systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of new facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, controls, automation, and plumbing issues encountered during equipment startup and commissioning.
• Assist with equipment acceptance testing, system verification, and performance validation to ensure systems operate as designed.
• Diagnose and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, VFDs, servos, and other automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot printed circuit boards (PCBs), control panels, electrical systems, and electronic components to identify and correct faults.
• Perform setup, programming verification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic and automated manufacturing systems.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, compressors, and utility equipment to support facility operations.
• Assist in the startup and maintenance of facility support systems, including compressed air, cooling water, process water, and plumbing systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to guide work activities.
• Perform equipment modifications, adjustments, and corrective actions to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
• Coordinate with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams to support successful project execution and system integration.
• Document commissioning activities, troubleshooting efforts, equipment deficiencies, and corrective actions in a clear and organized manner.
• Support preventative maintenance initiatives and contribute to ongoing facility reliability improvements following startup.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, codes, and company procedures.
• Provide and maintain personal tools required to perform daily tasks effectively.

Essential Skills

• Strong multi-craft experience across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with installation, startup, and commissioning of facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, controls, automation, and plumbing systems in an industrial environment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, VFDs, servos, and automation equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting printed circuit boards (PCBs), control panels, and complex electrical systems.
• Capability to set up, verify programming, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic and automated manufacturing systems.
• Competence in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, compressors, and utility equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with ground-up construction, equipment assembly, and repair activities in industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of safety standards, codes, and procedures related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams to support project execution.
• Capability to provide and use personal tools required for daily technical tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in industrial facilities or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in construction, installation, and ground-up facility projects.
• Comfort with reading blueprints and technical documentation for complex systems.
• Exposure to facility support systems such as compressed air, cooling water, process water, and plumbing networks.
• Experience documenting commissioning activities, maintenance work, and corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high equipment reliability and performance.

Work Environment

This role operates in an industrial facility and manufacturing environment, supporting a new facility expansion from ground-up construction through full production. You will work around mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as automation and robotic equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, VFDs, servos, pumps, motors, valves, piping, compressors, and utility systems such as compressed air, cooling water, process water, and plumbing. The position involves hands-on work with tools and equipment, frequent use of technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs, and coordination with contractors and internal teams on-site. Employees are expected to provide their own tools and follow all applicable safety standards, codes, and company procedures while working in a dynamic, project-driven environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Irving, TX.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Irving,TX.
