Sr. Operations Manager

Job ID: 10465261 | Amazon.com Services LLC Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for budgetary, people development and operational objectives. The Sr. Operations Manager oversees all aspects of operations and functions at the site and manages a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center. Responsibilities Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed the business plan. Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments. Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, incorporating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and across the network. Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Walk frequently within the FC and around the area; the facilities are over a quarter mile in length. Stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily. Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned. Access all areas of the building, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
