They supervise clients in all aspects of medication self-administration and all management of medication and other client care supplies. The staff nurse also provides health education for clients and families as needed or requested. They function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and perform administrative, clerical, and other tasks according to program policy. They demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of performance. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited college of nursing. License Required Current RN licensure in the State of Nevada Certification Required BLS Certification Preferred Certification in gerontological or psychiatric nursing desirable. Corporate Compliance Ability to read and write in English. Grammar/Spelling and Reading/Comprehension Skills Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, patient relations, analytical, and computer skills. Client and family teaching; teaching/learning materials development. Problem solving Acute-care clinical and/or psychiatric nursing experience required. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Completes an admission geropsychiatric nursing assessment for every client according to unit standard, Implementing necessary precautions as needed for each client. Monitors clients on an ongoing basis to identify health needs, problems, and/or symptoms. Communicates relevant clinical and other client care Information to Program Director, Medical Director and Treatment Team members as necessary and appropriate.
