Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking a dedicated educator to provide specialized support in an inclusion classroom setting for a group of approximately 8–10 elementary students. The assignment spans from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, encompassing the full school year and pre-planning days. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners in an environment focused on developmental growth and individualized education.
The students in this classroom are primarily in 1st and 2nd grade, with some in Kindergarten. Needs present among the group include autism, significant developmental delays, speech and language challenges, self-regulation needs, and specific learning disabilities. While there is no toileting or diapering required, one student will need supervision related to a toileting goal. You’ll work collaboratively with general educators and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning and provide specialized instruction tailored to each child’s developmental level.
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching license
- P-12 Special Education endorsement required
- Dyslexia endorsement required
- Experience working with PreK–2nd grade students in an inclusion setting preferred
- Strong understanding of autism, developmental delays, and speech/language disorders
- Team-oriented, patient, and adaptable to a variety of learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs geared toward each student's unique objectives
- Employ evidence-based strategies for academic, behavioral, and communication development
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and general education staff within the school
- Support positive behavior, social skills, and classroom integration
- Maintain diligent student records and progress documentation
