Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary setting, guiding young learners in their earliest years of academic and personal growth. This contract position offers you the chance to inspire and create lasting change for students from Kindergarten through 2nd grade, with a small caseload that prioritizes individualized instruction and support. You’ll work full-time, 7:00am to 3:00pm, within a dynamic academic calendar that begins in late July and continues through May—pre-planning days included for optimal preparation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and active GaPSC Teaching Credential required, including at least a P-12 Special Education General Curriculum Endorsement.
- Strong command of best practices in special education and differentiated learning.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a classroom setting, particularly in special education.
- Adaptability and readiness to occasionally support upper-grade students as needed.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to a caseload of up to 10 students, primarily in grades K-2.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student needs.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, focusing on growth and achievement.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, school staff, and families to support student progress and well-being.
- Track and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success.
- Minimal behavioral challenges expected, and no anticipated toileting responsibilities.
