The Director of Government Affairs will help develop Siemens Energy’s federal advocacy and public policy strategy, advancing legislative and regulatory priorities before Congress, federal agencies, and the Administration. Based in Washington, DC, this role is responsible for developing and executing strategic engagement plans, building strong relationships with policymakers and key stakeholders, and advising senior leadership on emerging policy developments that impact the company.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

• Developand execute comprehensive government affairs strategies to support NorthAmerican business objectives and improve the regulatory environment.

• Representthe company before Congress, federal agencies, the White House, and relevanttrade associations and coalitions.

• Buildand maintain strong bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress,congressional staff, administration officials, and key opinion leaders.

• Provideexpert strategic counsel to senior business leadership on the potentialconsequences of emerging legislation and policy trends.

• Developclear and concise position papers, legislative summaries, and briefingmaterials for internal and external stakeholders.

• Monitor,analyze, and report on legislative, regulatory, and political developmentsaffecting the company.

• Draftposition papers, testimony, comment letters, briefing materials, and talkingpoints for internal and external use.

• Coordinateadvocacy efforts with internal teams, including legal, communications, andbusiness leadership.

• Identifyopportunities for proactive engagement, including hearings, briefings,coalition activities, and grassroots initiatives.

• Manageexternal consultants, lobbyists, or trade association relationships as needed.

• Ensureall lobbying and advocacy activities strictly comply with all relevant federaland state ethical standards and legal reporting requirements.

• Manageinternal workflows for tracking government affairs activities and report onprogress and impact to leadership.

What You Bring (requirements)

• Bachelor’sdegree required; advanced degree (JD, MPP, MP A, or MBA) preferred.

• 8–12years of increasingly responsible experience in government affairs, publicpolicy, Capitol Hill, federal agencies, or a related field.

• Strongknowledge of the federal legislative and regulatory process.

• Demonstratedability to develop and advance policy positions in a complex politicalenvironment.

• Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing seniorexecutives.

• Provenrelationship building skills with policymakers and stakeholders across partylines.

• Abilityto work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in afast-paced environment.
