About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, 74464!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring Must-Have: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Heart Monitoring certification are required. Experience in Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, Newborn Nursery, and Couplet Care. Description: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Heart Monitoring certification is required. The nurse will care for 15-17 births per month. Responsibilities include Labor & Delivery as well as Mother Baby and Newborn Nursery care. The nurse will also have Gynecology surgery patients. In case of low patient volume, they may float to Med/Surg for additional support. If the nurse is uncomfortable with Med/Surg patients, they will assist with vitals and medication administration. The nurse will work closely with an LPN during their shift. The RN will perform all responsibilities within their scope for laboring patients, triages, and mother-baby care. The LPN cannot labor or triage patients, nor can they perform initial assessments. However, they can assist the RN with evaluations, turning patients, and documentation. As the baby nurse, the initial assessment needs to be validated by the RN. If additional help is required, staff may request assistance from a supervisory position. In emergencies, the LPN typically accompanies the patient to the OR, allowing the RN to remain on the unit for potential incoming triages. Being a small unit, creative solutions are necessary, but excellent support and resources are available when needed.
